Start of the project „Local Ecological Action Plan of Cukarica Municipality“
On 26th of September 2016 at premises of Belgrade municipality Cukarica the first meeting of the work group for programming the municipal Local Ecological Action Plan (LEAP) for the upcoming period 2017-2023 was held.
The goal of LEAP is to recognize using analytical methods the current and acute problems in the field of environmental protection in the Municipality and to direct municipal resources through action plan towards solving them, and to build its capacity to manage the changes that will affect the quality of the environment and the health of residents of the Municipality in the future, as well.
The participatory nature of the Document will be achieved through a series of activities designed for the local community, which will follow the process of LEAP development, such as public forums, competitions for schools, workshops, exhibitions and the like.
After members of the work group presented themselves, our consultants held a presentation on the LEAP methodology, tasks and expectations that were discussed in further course of the meeting.
In addition to Ljiljana Ilic, a coordinator of the work group and other representatives of the Municipality, the meeting of the working group was led and moderated by Zorica Isoski and Slobodan Spasic, consultants of the companies Aurora Green Ltd and TMS from Belgrade.
The representatives of a number of state and city institutions and public enterprises, such as the Agency for Environmental Protection of Serbia, the Secretariat of Energy, the Department of Statistics and Informatics, Public Enterprise „Srbijašume“, Public Enterprise „Srbijavode“, the Institute for Nature Conservation of Serbia, Faculty of Forestry of University of Belgrade, GSP Beograd, Health Center “Dr. Simo Milošević”, Environmental Movement, the Youth Office of the Municipality of Cukarica, Cardboard Plant „Umka“, Cukarica Cultural Center and Gallery 73 thereof actively participated at the meeeting as work group members.
