(Srpski) GHG izveštavanja

Our company conducts all types of GHG reporting to fulfill domestic regulatory requirements, as well as to meet international standards and conditions required by exporters to the EU.

GHG stands for Greenhouse Gases, which are chemical compounds present in the atmosphere that absorb and retain heat, creating the greenhouse effect. The most common GHGs include carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (NOx), fluorinated gases, and water vapor. These gases play a crucial role in maintaining the temperature on planet Earth, but become problematic when their levels increase due to human activities.

Reporting on GHG Emissions

In accordance with the Regulation on Types of Activities and Greenhouse Gas Emissions (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia” No. 13/22), certain types of activities and greenhouse gases for which the plant operator obtains a permit for emission of greenhouse gases are determined. Therefore, all plants requiring a permit for GHG emissions are obliged to submit a Request for Permit Issuance to the competent authority.

After notifying the competent authority and obtaining the permit for GHG emissions, it is necessary to determine the monitoring and reporting method. This obligation is detailed in the Rulebook on Monitoring and Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions. This regulation defines the content of the Monitoring Plan, as well as the method of reporting to the Ministry of Environmental Protection through the e-GHG portal.

CBAM Documentation

CBAM stands for “Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism.” CBAM is an instrument applied in the European Union (EU) to effectively prevent carbon leakage. This mechanism aims to ensure that imported products from non-EU countries are subject to a carbon footprint price equivalent to the carbon emission cost of production within the EU.

CBAM is particularly significant in the context of combating climate change and achieving GHG emission reduction goals. The implementation of this mechanism has a direct impact on sectors subject to high emissions. CBAM functions as a tool to promote global trade fairness and ensure that all products, regardless of their origin, are accountable for their environmental footprint.
